Edinburgh Family Photography – The Muggridge Family Photoshoot

Edinburgh Family Photography – The Muggridge Family Photoshoot at Lauriston Castle, Edinburgh

I was delighted when Michelle approached me to photograph her gorgeous family again this year. I had previously photographed Grace and James for a Mummy and Me photoshoot with Michelle but this was the first time Daddy had joined in the fun too! I know many families worry about when is the best time/age to have a family photoshoot done and in all honesty there is no better time than now! Your children will love the images for years to come and probably wont care what you are wearing or what your hairstyle was like. But they will treasure those memories of you all as a family having fun and spending time together. This is why I aim to make your family portrait experience as fun and relaxed as possible. In fact when Alan said he felt like he had just been out for the day as a family and not on a  photoshoot at all I was delighted as thats exactly what I hope for!

Family photography has come a long way since the days of staged studio set ups with parents posing awkwardly with unhappy (and at times uncooperative!) children all looking stressed and miserable. Now you can look forward to planning your family portrait and hopefully enjoy it too!

If this post has made you think about booking your own family photoshoot and you would like to know more please visit my Family page here. You’ll find out exactly how I work and how much fun getting your family photos taken can be!

We booked an outdoor family photo shoot to celebrate my little boy’s first birthday, along with his 2 year old sister. Rachael did a great job, quickly making friends with my 2 year old (and my husband actually) to make them feel at ease. Rachael was so patient with my toddler, who likes to do her own thing and so photos were taken with her doing just that. We didn’t feel at all posed, it really did feel like we were out for a family outing with just the benefit of having some beautiful images for us to cherish. Finally, Rachael’s local knowledge was fantastic, I can’t believe I’ve never been to the location she suggested, but we will definitely go back. Highly recommend!
